How much does GCSE tutoring cost?
Lesson rates depend on format (online/in person) and frequency. Most families spend £40–£70 per lesson, with block discounts available. We confirm exact pricing after your free assessment — no surprises, no hidden fees.
Do you offer online lessons, in-person lessons, or both?
Both. Online lessons use an interactive whiteboard so your child can write, draw, and work through problems just as they would in person. In-person availability depends on your location.
Which GCSE exam boards do you cover?
AQA, Edexcel (Pearson), OCR, and WJEC/Eduqas. We confirm your child's exact specification during the free assessment so every lesson is taught the way it'll be examined.
What are your tutors' qualifications?
All tutors are subject-qualified (degree-level minimum, most with PGCE/QTS), DBS-checked, and trained in our assessment-and-tracking methodology before working with students.
Will I get progress reports?
Yes. Parents receive a written update after every block of lessons (typically fortnightly) covering what's been taught, how your child performed, and what's coming next.
How often does my child need lessons?
Most students attend weekly. Some opt for twice-weekly closer to mocks or final exams. We recommend frequency based on the assessment, not a fixed package.
What happens in the free assessment?
A 30-minute 1-to-1 diagnostic session identifying current level, gaps, exam board and target grade — with a written summary and recommended plan, and no obligation to continue.
Can we cancel or pause lessons?
Yes. There are no long-term contracts. We ask for a week's notice to cancel or pause so we can re-allocate your slot.
What results can we realistically expect?
We don't promise specific grades — every student's starting point is different. What we do commit to is a structured plan, consistent tracking, and tutors who specialise in this subject and stage.
What year groups do you tutor?
Primarily Year 10 and Year 11. Early-start plans for Year 9 students are available on request.
Do you offer 1-to-1 or group tutoring?
Primarily 1-to-1 for personalised pacing. Small online group sessions are occasionally offered for specific exam-technique workshops.
What if my child has additional learning needs (e.g. dyslexia, ADHD)?
Let us know during the assessment. Several of our tutors have specific experience supporting neurodiverse students and we'll match accordingly.
How do I pay, and is it secure?
Card payment via Stripe, billed monthly in advance against the lessons booked. All payments are PCI-compliant.
What happens after the free assessment if we want to continue?
We confirm exam board, recommend a lesson frequency, agree pricing, and book your child's first regular lesson slot — usually within the same week.
